Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit can help you become a more artful planner
For urban planners, creative placemaking can be more than just adding fun arts and cultural projects into their work. Creative placemaking can help us work more effectively in diverse communities and deal with uncertainty.
Want to learn how? Please join us at the 2022 Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit, April 18-22, online and in Schenectady.
Build your skills in workshops and charrette-type sessions called Strategy Labs at sites in and around Schenectady. Connect with artists, arts administrators, community economic development professionals, cultural tourism professionals, placemakers and others. Learn about interesting and innovative work and ideas. Find a community of planners and placemakers who believe in the power of local arts and cultural activities to enhance places and communities. All of the online sessions will be recorded, so you can watch them at your convenience.
What do you hope the Summit will cover? Share your thoughts on topics, and even help shape the Summit by joining the event’s Working Group. The Working Group is meeting November 30, from 2-3:30 pm, to select themes and topics for the Summit.
Created by a national award-winning planner and planning educator, Creative Placemaking Leadership Summits have served more than 3,300 professionals from around the United States since 2014. More than 90% of participants surveyed said they enjoyed their experience, made valuable connections, and gained useful knowledge.
The 2022 Northeast Summit is supported by a variety of partners, including the APA New York Upstate chapter, Proctors Theatre, the Schenectady Foundation, Union College, Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation, Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority, Discover Schenectady. More partners will be announced soon. The Summit is produced by a team led by Creative Placemaking Communities of South Orange, NJ.
